This course has really been good and interesting. It has improved my knowledge about the internet a whole lot more. I would know how alot of things work but i had no idea about the technicality. Using blogger has been really fun, playing around with the html and fixing it up & it was a really simple way communicating all our work to damien. Flickr was used to upload and share images with classmates, i really like this website and love searching for images on it. Delicious was used to store website that you wanted saved on the internet, i didnt use this website as much as i should have because i didnt really have anything i wanted to save. It was really handy in keeping the links to everyones blog in my class though. In this class we learnt about making websites with html and got into the technical stuff including CSS, RSS & FTP.We joined a website called technorati which keeps track of everyones blog and tells you as a rss page when everyones blog has been updated. It was interesting to see your ranking aswell.

At the end we made our own websites which was the best part.

I cant believe its the end of the term already hopefully everythings gone well. I learnt alot from this class & enjoyed it heaps, thankyou damien.

Yaay aparantly 1024 people have looked on my profile according to my counter...NOT! haha it proves you cant trust the number of hits on websites.

Anyways RSS stands for Really Simple Syndication. It is a webfeed used to constantly update the data that reaches people over the interenet. e.g the amount of peers for a torrent you may be downloading this program is dependant on RSS. You can also subscribe to certain things including podcasts and blogs and the rss will notify the user that something has been updated or changed.

Google Reader is a place where users can subscribe to different feeds and be told when there is new things added. You can share your files on google reader and also download all the pages and also be able to view them offline which is a pretty handy feature!

Technorati is a website that is dedicated to blogs only, You can get your ranking & easily see what your friends have been doing on their blogger pages. It is different to google because it searches blog pages & not every page on the world wide web.

FTP – File Transfer Protocol.

FTP one of the most familiar method for transferring or copying files between computers over the internet.

It is most commonly used for transferring files including Mp3’s, Movies, programs & E-Books using torrent files.

A risk of transferring ftp files is that its sending data over the internet can put you in a position of your files getting violated by others if they know how.

I have Currently done 5 posts on this website, some were a little delayed though because I went overseas and had to do them when I got back during my holidays.

The First post was just a play around with html & the rest were about exploring and discovering websites including Flickr & Delicious.

Blogspot has been really fun to play around with, ive changed the background a few times and it is currently chocolate… mmm.

I have changed the Fonts, Colour of the fonts and the thickness of the borders/colours.

Extra work ive done on blogspot... umm I did change my profile picture and updated my personal profile added some extra features to the side bar just made my page more aesthetically pleasing i guess, also I did a lot of going onto random peoples profiles and looking at there pages I found quiet a lot of interesting ones including this one.

Truthfully I didn’t like this website that much I don’t commonly forget websites & I usually don’t go on important websites unless im on my laptop so I can just favourite them.

I Have 15 bookmarked pages on my profile so far and they are mostly peoples blog pages, some flickr pages, the Animation & VFX forum website & the Northern line train timetable. Most of these were bookmarked so we could comment other people on blogspot and also the other ones for personal use in case I forgot the websites.

Yaay for "CUSTOM STYLE SHEETS" - Week 6 mpi104

CSS is all about presentation. It lets you control the aspect of colour, images & placement without manually doing it.

The Advantages included in CSS is that it saves a whole heap of time especially when you can easily make mistakes in html. Also its easy to maintain & lets you change everything in ease.

The Templates on Blog Spot can be changed through the css. You can change the Style, Size, Colour of Borders, Headings and Fonts & Background images.

I fiddled around with the fonts and colours also i changed my background image to chocolate because im craving it right now mmm.

I think this is a heaps practical website. I ALWAYS forget the animation forum website so now i can actually remember it wherever i go.
The Add-on buttons for mozilla makes it as easy as simply bookmarking a page on ur pc.
But yes this is very smart, who would of thought of something like this.
